








Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has successfully implemented its American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the Recovery Act) programs, and will distribute 250 grants totaling $55,784,0 to the 28th Congressional District of Texas.
District 28 U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, secured eight of the 12-passenger vans for veterans in his district with an eye toward helping them get to medical appointments in the district, which stretches from Laredo to Seguin. The bus dedicated to Guadalupe County arrived in late August, and five volunteer drivers have been located.
FEMA has invested $29 billion in preparedness grants to state and local entities since 2002. The legislation, which has yet to be introduced in the Senate, should be modeled on the bill introduced by Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), which was passed unanimously by the House in June. This legislation requires each federal department and agency to set high-priority goals they intend to achieve for the American people.
